Banquet Monday June 21, 2010 6PM at The Starving Artist

This year marks the 15th annual Beersheba Preservation Awards.  Our community has much to be proud of in the area of stewardship in preserving our architectural legacy. The Society is pleased to honor homeowners, businesses and individuals who have committed their time and efforts in restoring their unique properties which maintains the quality of the historic district of Ocean Grove. These restorations help us to appreciate, understand and deepen our knowledge of the importance of our built environment. We become more aware of our cultural assets and our architectural heritage. These treasures play an important and valuable role in our community’s sense of pride and identity. How fortunate we are to be in a community filled by these remarkable people who through their efforts are protecting and preserving our significant heritage and who understand the valuable role our historic buildings play as an important point of reference for the future generations of Ocean Grover’s.

Cate Comerford, a local Ocean Grove architect, will be the guest speaker.  Cate specializes in traditionally designed homes and on historic home renovation.  Since launching her own firm in 2000, she has garnered ten Ocean Grove Beersheba Awards for historic preservation as well as a Chester Historical Society community achievement award.   We will get the special opportunity to hear her personal perspectives on historical preservation in Ocean Grove.

Please come and join the Society and the recipients of the 2009 Beersheba Preservation Awards, at a Banquet in which awards will be given in the categories of Civic, Commercial, Homeowners, New Construction and Streetscape.  We look forward to members and friends joining us for this celebration.  It is only through our shared commitment and stewardship of Ocean Grove that we can hope to share the beauty of our town with generations to come.

A buffet dinner will be served Monday June 21 at 6:00 PM at the Starving Artist Restaurant. Limited seating is available and reservations are required. The cost is $30 per person.  Banquet reservation forms may be downloaded in PDF format below or picked up at the HSOG Museum.
