1920

In February, the N.J. legislature became the 29th state legislature to ratify the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which granted women the right to the vote. N.J. women voted for the first time in the presidential election of 1920. The N.J. League of Women Voters, successor organization to the N.J. Woman Suffrage Association, was established
