The Present Meets the Past in Historic Ocean Grove on the 3rd Friday in July  during the Annual Summer House Tour hosted by the Historical Society of Ocean Grove. One of the most popular Summer Events in Ocean Grove, the self-guided walking tour takes visitors to various sites within this Victorian community.>

The tour, held rain or shine, includes some of Ocean Grove's historic edifices as well as lovely Victorian homes, tents,  Bed and Breakfasts, and tours of the Great Auditorium and the Centennial Cottage. Transportation service is also provided to help convey visitors from one distant site to the next.

The House Tour gives visitors a unique opportunity to experience ways in which the charm and graciousness of Victorian life and architecture can be adapted for 21st Century living. Equally popular among long time residents and visitors to Ocean Grove, as well as potential and recent home buyers, guests of the tours can obtain valuable hints on integrating design and architectural features of 19th Century homes into modern living and life-style needs, acquire decorating ideas and tips and enjoy the camaraderie of making new friends and meeting their neighbors in this family oriented resort community.

Tickets are available for a non-refundable donation of $25.00 in advance and $30.00 on the day of the tour which includes entry into provided transportation at all tour stops. To obtain tickets by mail, please send a check along with a self addressed stamped envelope to Historical Society of Ocean Grove, attn: House Tour • PO Box 446 • Ocean Grove, NJ 07756. Mail in ticket purchases must be post marked 7 days prior to the tour. The Historical Society of Ocean Grove is now accepting credit cards orders. You may call us at (732) 774-1869 and use your Visa, MasterCard or Discover to purchase tickets by phone or to obtain ticket availability information before ordering. In Ocean Grove, tickets may be purchased at Gifts by Tina, Gingerbreads and the Loft, all on Main Avenue, and at the Historical Society Museum at 50 Pitman Avenue. On the day of the tour, tickets will be available only at the Museum from 10:00 am until 1:00pm. Children under 12 are not admitted.
